Yeah Lorin, Cds and laptops have zero waste don't ya know and everyone know mp3's have a higher sound quality anyway
I would rather carry a tower in one hand and a monitor in the other..... with the keyboard and mouse and midi contoller and power/sound and cables on my backpack-than cart around a case/bag full of records..Last time i checked the dump fees in Nelson went by tonnage....plus- who can get over the border with a bag of records these days without a visa???....i am typing you this message on a computer that is 7 yrs old.......Not saying this track is not the bomb. i am hoping for the day to play, control, and listen to music by plugging in our mini drives straight into the mixer(s) and computer(s) and other ports available... SOON....hopefully there will be no need for cdjs or turntables..it starts with the CONSUMERS and DISTRIBUTORS u guys.....US>>>>> -

Re: LSD remix
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 12:24 AMi think this stance has merit.. It should be considered by others in the music/dj industry.... who are producing items for sale that have come from a plastic/pertoleum based market placethat causes (lets face it) war........Everyone has a right in N America.. and should have the right anywhere to decide how they distrbute their message..We all complain about our social/political/economic situation but yet we deicde to play their game by CHOICE>>> even the artists and revolution starters in this case it seems..... when there are other obvious OPTIONS for US>>>
Just makes sense to me to think a 'lil more conservatively .....and i WANT the track/......Why spend all that money and gas and energy distributing this to me?....Why not let me have a choice to CLICK a button to purchase info>?..plug in a small flash drive or ipod or what have you.....and PRESTO..... The music is distributed to my hands ( well better yet--- my EARS--) with minimal impact - less stuff = more space... -

Re: LSD remix
Fri, May 23, 2008 - 12:33 AMwe could argue till the hound dawgs yelp over what sounds better..
To me its a matter of putting the information age AHEAD and the Industrial Age behind Us whenever possible...By not doing so we support these manufacturers of plastic and petroleum war toys.... On that note...don't drop bombs drop ACID....this track is the bomb. -
-
Re: LSD remix
Thu, June 5, 2008 - 7:09 PMIs it available on beatport yet? C'mon Lo...........Do your part....Practice what you preach..... Help end the war...........Don't put 1000-10000 copies of information out as hardcopies this year man....................Oil belongs in the ground :) -

Re: LSD remix
Fri, June 6, 2008 - 10:26 AMDon't kid yourself homie,
every computer, every powerline, every part of the internet, computers, every blank cd you would burn the trax to & this electrical world is created using petroleum products.
Your argument makes some sense until you look at the whole picture....
That being said....Damn I was that Track....It's the Hotness!!! -

Re: LSD remix
Fri, June 6, 2008 - 1:34 PMBottled water and its distribution uses tons of oil, more than the comparatively low amount used in ones daily transportation. Are you taking the initiative to catch your own rain water, drill a well, purify a stream? These computers are manufactured with parts from almost every continent. The super capacitors in your mobile devices are destroying the people of the Congo in Afrika. Few good tabs of Ellis D and you can see the whole perspective for oneself. Pace -

Re: LSD remix
Tue, June 10, 2008 - 10:08 PMi had a hunch
;)
yo, this discussion is truly hilarious
i like thinking that i can save the world and end suffering by releasing my music digitally!
:)
thats so cool. but the discussion is null in this case, cuz i didnt even release the LSD mix...FingaLickin did, and they dont release digitally (cuz of copyright issues)
its just an underground bootleg thang
to top it off, i totally spaced and sent them a version too slow (100bpm) ...it ssupsed to be 105, and sounds best at 107
also i had to crop it to 4 minutes, and frankly the 8 minute version is BANARNARS
:)
yaddayadda
i for one, am certainly a hypocrite, in that i will say one thing, and then change my mind later and say another, but i always mean it when i do it.
which counts for something
back to work!

Re: LSD remix
Wed, June 11, 2008 - 11:17 AM"bananars"
I wish you all could have simultaneously had a vision of me when I read that word... teeheeeheee.....

Re: LSD remix
Wed, June 11, 2008 - 6:30 PM................ i am lobbying to get rid of turntables altogether...All we need should be on the dj mixer...Or computer...Which it is already........... With traktor dj....All the rest is more stuff we don't need..........
Again this post has been sent with a computer almost 8 years old...If you take care of them they work a long time...If you look at the big picture.....Like all the energy it takes to distribute these cds and vinyl to stores and homes like mine ( i want the track still--but boohiss to the shipping fees!!!!..........
We could be doing a lot more to end the war just by using and distributing LESS...... And if we really want to get people out there to make a difference....We should all first look at what WE are producing and putting out there physicallly....Either you part of the problem or the solution-- Kinda like we are either with US-------- or the terrorists (kidding---kidding)
.If you are preaching the solution to the masses/----That message should be spread and practiced accordingly with the goal in mind i would think. .....This stance on playing and distributing musics is a good way to START using LESS...Which is really what the war is MOSTLY about.....Having ENOUGH (well more than enough but again you get the gist) to produce what we WANT and the way machines work and are made-----NEED....
I could get what I want with one click of a button or i could take a bus ride, a seabus ride, another bus ride, -----oooohp..needa bottle a bottle of water on the way./.......And then ----repeat the process on the way home....:(
Food for thought on incorporating turntable funtions into dj mixers: Audio and Video Intergration on this mixer.

Re: LSD remix
Wed, June 11, 2008 - 11:47 PMI was wondering if it's possible to make records out of local organic solar-dehydrated thai basil juice? I had a dream a few nights ago that I went to BM and it was actually a strange place with grass and trees and DJ Lorin was about to arrive and everyone was SO excited because he had prepared a thai vegan buffet for everyone!!
You see, he'd given up producing because it was waaaay too big of a headache, especially the hypocritical digital vs. analog part. Instead, he decided that his true hearts calling was to be a kickass creator of yummy local organic vegan goodness. DJ Lorin, as far as I'm concerned, you can cook womp cook womp cook tasty treats for us anytime!!! -

Re: LSD remix
Fri, June 13, 2008 - 3:34 PMThat song is the feel good song of 2008. A close second is the Strawberry Hill Song by ASkillz! Hey Lorin right before you play that song do you say to yourself. Watch me make this crowd move! Filmore and LIB were so much fun. I am getting old I am not able to jump up and down like 10 years ago.
I like how on the Finger Lickin site you can do the Pepsi Taste Challenge against ASkillz and Bassnectar with the two different remixes side by side. The styles do come out.
Not enough Bassnectar in the Bay these days but I guess it’s time to share with the world.

Re: LSD remix
Sat, June 14, 2008 - 12:33 PMHey Lo....why don't you send the 8 minute sped up knocker to all your favorite promoters around the US?
That would not include me, but someone will give it to me....
; )
STRAWBERRY HILL??? isn't that a flavor of Boone's "Wine?"

Sat, June 14, 2008 - 3:46 PMthe hill is to the north of the field, can be a hike, but the view is wonderful of the whole field and jus down yonder one finds there way to the paw paw patch....

Re: LSD remix
Sat, June 21, 2008 - 10:08 AMWell i know you can make plastics out of hemp resins.....Perhaps this is an avenue that we as distributors and friends of distributors should look at---- and if feasible----promote the shit out of !!!!! :)........ GO bio-vinyl!!!!!!.......... I can understand the need/want for vinyl... Turntablism is GREAT FUN ...it rocks.........But sometimes we must look at what the IMPACT of having fun is doing to our Earth.....And we must consider as leaders and spokesmen of a movement towards a better Earth- the IMPACT of our actions conveying that message .........It just seems silly to me to try and fight something you do not want as part of your society/lifestyle with weapons that the enemy made....Namely petrol and their bi-products. :(
