just putting it out there if anyone happens to be near new paltz, ny this upcoming sunday... should be fun. the weather this week has been amazing, so hopefully that trend will keep up a few more days... (well, that'd be good news for dancing fools like myself, but not-so-good-news for the still burning mohonk mountain preserves just outside of new paltz...)
if you make it to this gig and i don't know you, come find me and say hello. i'll have a booth somewhere out in the field selling t-shirts and weird art and i always like to meet tribe.net people... (y'all scare me a lot less than, oh, i dunno, myspace people... :)

Re: bassnectar free in new paltz, ny at "rock against racism" event
Wed, April 23, 2008 - 7:04 AMi found a bulletin on the event posted elsewhere that i'll cut and paste... it has a segment which reads: "We are trying to send a variety of messages including: our main issue of ending the drug war." -- this sentence is in the post because RAR is sponsored by a SUNY campus chapter of non-profit New York NORML... (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws)...
here's more info on the event:
Rock Against Racism -April 27 Noon - 10pm New Paltz -FREE
About Rock Against Racism:
Rock Against Racism is an annual event at SUNY New Paltz. Every year around the end of April, people gather at the Old Main Quad for a day of inspiring political music and speakers. Music ranges from hip hop to spoken word and from rock to soul. It’s an amazing time and brings together in and outside the New Paltz community.
What RAR is is a huge political platform through the medium of music. Though we are undoubtedly "rockin' against racism" that is not the only thing we are concerned with. We are trying to send a variety of messages including: our main issue of ending the drug war. But we also cover ending the war on terrorism, environmental issues, anti-consumerism, and just simply trying to promote consciousness, unity, and empowerment within the community.
Rock Against Racism involves people of all cultures taking a stand together as one.
The event is FREE and opened to the public!
